its the weekend

Here's to a weekend after the craziness of this week. I think I'm still playing sleep-catch up from staying up during the elections! Planning to spend my weekend painting our bathroom, enjoying some cupcakes with friends and perhaps a night out on the town. We'll see. Wishing you a little warmth, late nights and sweet treats too!

final countdown

less than 24 hours before the official papers are signed and keys are handed over. Our final walk through was last night and we turned on every light, ran every sink...everything seems to be functioning. We even met a neighbor! Boxes are being packed up and loaded into the truck tonight so that our move can promptly start when the i's are dotted and the t's are crossed.

i think we need to go out and buy some champagne.

cheers to...

1. pretty flowers. these were from a while ago but what a beautiful bouquet.
2. staying up late and watching silly speed stacking videos on youtube with the boyfriend. did you know this was a sport?
3. laundry being done. it's been piling up in our apartment and i finally folded every piece of it. i even matched all the socks (my least favorite part). just in time for some more laundry this weekend (smile)
4. dinner with good friends this weekend. and coffee dates!
5. storm watching. the weather has been muggy and warm and perfect for some big thunderstorms. mother nature, please make it rain, thunder and lightening! 
6. unexpectedly sweet texts from boyfriend. he's not one for cheesy so when a cheesy text comes around, its a wonderful surprise!
7. being patient. things will fall in place when they are suppose to and when it happens, it happens.

1. snow. it's going to snow. major.


2. having a little cat follow me around in the morning. i know she wants food but still, its adorable.


3. work. as stressful as it may be, i'm so thankful to have work to do each day. long days, multiple task lists, skipping lunch... at the end of the day, i'm blessed for the opportunities i have and the talented people i get to work beside.


4. restaurant week. trying someplace new is always fun. so are double dates. double yes.


5. last minute travels. not for me but for my parents. not always ideal but im grateful that they made it to china safely and can be with family.


6. listening to the same song on repeat. you know you do it.

last week

 

 

1. ...was crazy busy but seeing everything come together on Sunday really put a smile on my face.
2. if someone stole my car, they would have found: 200 bananas, 7 hula hoops, 300 apples, 2 scales and 10 purple windbreaker jackets. yes, these were all for the event.
3. afterwards, i didnt get my margarita but beer+pizza+football are a pretty good second.
4. J and I even got to spend some time with his buddies before they all left to go back to school. maybe we spent a handful of extra late nights out but i've been workin hard, rrright?
5. we even faced the cold, surrounded ourselves with 80k people & witnessed this event in St. Paul.
6. on Saturday, i had a much needed coffee date with this gal.
7. and i didn't have any time to go grocery shopping but that can be all done tonight.

 

happy happy Monday lets hope your week is as calm as mine will be (or at least I hope mine will be!)

the little things

1. stopping to take a breath. after a couple weeks of celebrations (birthday, christmas, new years eve, birthdays, yeesh), we are exhausted. so last night, instead of going out (for another friends birthday celebration), we opted to stay in, catch up on some TV and hang out just us.
2. conquering weekend baking projects - i made my first cheesecake (will post pics soon)
3. getting the underground parking spot.
4. having staring contests with my kitty. i always win.
5. joe becoming a coffee drinker. maybe we can upgrade from instant coffee to a coffeemaker.
6. free pizza. and waiting in line outside for it.
7. seeing my basil plant start to grow! all i need are some pine nuts and we've got pesto
8. even though we only completed eight dates of christmas, J and I agreed that our trip to Des Moines basically counted as three dates.


here's to the little things that make you smile.

Today I'm loving this

1. sleeping in late + curling up against the boy with the kitty in between.


2. breakfast sandwiches.


3. seeing all the snow that fell yesterday.


4. our chilly apartment & tons of blankets.


5. a clean kitchen.


6. stealing this idea and starting a tradition with J.


7. puppy chow. best decision to make this yesterday.


8. putting away laundry. its weird but this is one of my favorite tasks.


9. deciding to reinvigorate my summer plants indoors.
